About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team supporting Korea and Japan. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience and a strong understanding of Korean accounting standards (K-GAAP), IFRS, and tax compliance. The role involves managing general ledger functions, financial reporting, and supporting our fast-growing AI service business with accurate and timely financial data.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger (GL) entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure proper month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing in compliance with company policies and K-GAAP/IFRS.
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Review and reconcile bank statements and cash flow records.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financials for headquarters.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and variance analyses to support decision-making.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory returns in compliance with Korean tax regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and government agencies as required.
- Maintain compliance with local accounting, tax, and financial reporting laws.
Process Improvement & Tools
- Support ERP/financial system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) usage and continuous improvement.
- Assist in implementing process automation tools to streamline finance operations.
- Collaborate with global finance teams to align on group accounting policies and internal controls.
Business Support
- Partner with operational and project teams to provide financial analysis for AI service projects.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
- Provide finance-related support for HR payroll and expense reimbursement.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in technology or service companies.
- Strong knowledge of K-GAAP, IFRS, and Korean tax compliance.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills; familiarity with financial analysis and reporting tools.
- Good communication skills in Korean and English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Good communication skills in Japanese
