Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced OpenShift Engineer to join our infrastructure and platform engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining multiple OpenShift clusters running production workloads, developing and administering Helm charts, and leading migrations from VMware to OpenShift. This role requires deep expertise in Red Hat technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to integrate OpenShift environments with ITSM platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain multiple OpenShift clusters in production environments.
  • Perform routine cluster health checks, upgrades, and patching.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of OpenShift environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Helm charts for application deployment.
  • Collaborate with development teams to standardize deployment practices.
  • Lead and execute migration projects from VMware to OpenShift.
  • Integrate OpenShift clusters with ITSM platforms for asset, change, and incident management.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure visibility into cluster performance and health.
  • Work with observability tools to provide actionable insights and alerts.
  • Handle change management processes including planning, testing, and deployment.
  • Document OpenShift environments, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues within OpenShift clusters.
  • Modify scripts and configurations to address performance or reliability concerns.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience working with Red Hat and OpenShift technologies.
  • Proven experience in Helm chart development and Kubernetes administration.
  • Strong understanding of VMware infrastructure and migration strategies.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) for integration and automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and debugging.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • At least one Red Hat certification (e.g., Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator, RHCE).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) preferred.
