About Role

The Pre-Sales Solutions Architect – Data Center plays a critical role in supporting the sales team by providing deep technical expertise in designing and scoping complex Data Center and Data Center solutions. This role demands a high level of proficiency in modern networking architectures, hardware platforms, and security technologies. You will engage directly with clients to assess their infrastructure needs, design tailored solutions and articulate the value of Gruve’s offerings across hardware refreshes, greenfield/brownfield deployments, and MSSP services.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Pre-Sales Support:

  • Collaborate with sales to scope and design Data Center services projects including hardware refreshes, SDWAN, SDN, VXLAN, EVPN, and traditional 3-tier networks.
  • Architect solutions involving AI converged/split-rail designs, NVLink/UALink, ROCEv2, and Data Center Interconnects.
  • Provide technical leadership on MSSP offerings and OEM technologies from Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and Aruba.
  • Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and demos to prospective clients.
  • Develop technical proposals, SOWs, LLDs, and PoCs to validate solution effectiveness.

Customer Engagement & Requirement Gathering:

  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client environments, goals, and constraints.
  • Document meeting outcomes, follow up on action items, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on data center networking and infrastructure best practices.

Solution Design and Architecture:

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure solutions integrating compute, networking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and delivery teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with Gruve’s capabilities.
  • Prepare architecture diagrams, compliance summaries, and marketing collateral as needed.

Technical Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Stay current with emerging technologies in networking, compute, and networking.
  • Educate internal teams on trends and competitive positioning.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and articulate Gruve’s differentiators.
  • Proposal Development and RFP/RFI Response:
  • Lead technical responses to RFPs/RFIs ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver compelling and compliant proposals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in pre-sales architecture, consulting, or technical advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of data center networking (VXLAN, EVPN, SDN), compute platforms, and virtualization.
  • Experience with Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Aruba routing and switching technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI infrastructure design (NVLink, UALink, ROCEv2).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualification

  • OEM-level certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or higher.
  • Experience with HP, Dell, SuperMicro, and Cisco compute stacks.
  • Proficiency in virtualization and hypervisor platforms (VMware, RedHat OpenShift).
  • Knowledge of MSSP offerings and data center networking frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Salary Range

$130,000 to $165,000 USD
