Position summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our QA and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation testing, with deep proficiency in Python, experience with GUI automation frameworks, and a solid understanding of functional and performance testing. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites to ensure software quality cloud and on-premises applications.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and test scripts, primarily using Python.
- Implement and execute GUI automation tests for On-premises and/or SaaS applications.
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product managers to define test plans and ensure high product quality.
- Create and maintain robust, efficient, and scalable automation frameworks for regression, functional, and system testing.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in test automation and software engineering.
- Maintain continuous integration and testing pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
- Troubleshoot, debug, and analyze test failures to identify root causes.
- Contribute to test case planning, test data management, and documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in test automation and software development in test roles.
- Strong programming skills in Python with knowledge of object-oriented design and coding best practices.
- Proficiency in GUI automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest + Selenium, Playwright, Appium).
- Experience in functional, regression, and system testing.
- Solid understanding of performance testing concepts and familiarity with tools such as JMeter, Locust, or k6.
- Hands-on experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and build tools.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with API and service-level testing (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and system performance profiling.
- Exposure to agile/scrum development practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment.
