The role emphasizes proficiency with both hardware and software testing, focused on next-generation networking and security features, and demands end-to-end ownership in automation frameworks, test strategy, and defect analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute detailed test plans, strategies, and automation frameworks for enterprise networking and security products including firewalls and network interface cards (NICs).
  • Drive feature test automation, primarily using Python, to increase coverage and depth of test libraries for networking security solutions like Cisco Firewalls and Intel NICs.
  • Validate Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols and features such as STP, VLAN, OSPF, TCP, UDP, DHCP, and ensure compliance for advanced switching/routing products.
  • Test and automate security features such as policy controls, threat and malware detection, and IPS/IDS systems using custom Python test frameworks.
  • Analyze customer and field logs, triage defects, and lead efforts to identify, debug, and resolve critical issues.
  • Integrate, execute, and maintain regression test scripts in CI/CD environments utilizing Jenkins, Git, and related tools.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and devops in Agile/Scrum settings to ensure release quality and product reliability.
  • Mentor junior QA and automation engineers in technical execution and automation best practices.
  • Provide high-quality reporting, regression analysis, and actionable feedback for continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of quality assurance and test automation experience in leading networking and security projects.
  • Advanced Python automation for Linux, Windows, and ESXi environments.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and validation methods (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, VLAN, OSPF, STP).
  • End-to-end product validation experience with enterprise hardware & security products (e.g., Cisco Nexus, Intel NICs, Vision-based ADAS).
  • Proficiency in log analysis, customer issue diagnostics, and root-cause investigations.
  • Tools familiarity: Jenkins, Jira, Git, CMake, Wireshark, TestRail.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, regression testing, and reporting for iterative release cycles.
  • Significant track record in automating functional tests and regression suites, delivering measurable boosts in test coverage and process efficiency.
  • Recognized for bug discovery, timely release delivery, and quality reporting in previous roles, particularly in multi-vendor and customer-facing environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on release management, field monitoring, and customer escalation support for networking and security deployments.
  • Exposure to cloud and virtualization platforms like VMware ESXi.
  • Certified or demonstrable equivalent hands-on expertise in networking and security domains is a plus.
