Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Global Data Center Operations to lead our Pune-based team in managing multiple data center facilities across the United States. This critical leadership position requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage geographically distributed operations on a 24/7/365 basis, ensuring seamless delivery of network, security, and operational technology services. The successful candidate will be responsible for building high-performing teams, optimizing shift operations, and maintaining sophisticated multi-tenant environments that meet the diverse needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management-

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT and OT operations professionals based in Pune, India
  • Design and implement optimal shift schedules to ensure comprehensive 24/7 coverage across US time zones
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Build succession plans and develop talent pipelines for critical operational roles

Operations Management-

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple US-based data center sites from the Pune operations center
  • Coordinate remote resource management and on-site dispatch requirements to ensure rapid response to incidents
  • Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure consistent achievement of operational metrics
  • Implement and refine operational procedures, runbooks, and escalation protocols

Multi-Tenant Environment Management-

  • Design, build, and maintain tenant-specific operational environments with customized dashboards and alerting systems
  • Ensure proper segregation of client data and monitoring capabilities across multiple tenant environments
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their unique operational requirements and translate them into actionable monitoring and response protocols

Network & Security Operations-

  • Provide strategic oversight of network operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Ensure robust security operations practices are maintained across all managed environments
  • Coordinate with security teams on incident response and remediation activities

Operational Technology (OT) Management-

  • Oversee OT systems including building management, power distribution, cooling, and environmental monitoring
  • Ensure integration between IT and OT operations for comprehensive facility management
  • Maintain awareness of OT-specific security considerations and compliance requirements

Stakeholder Management-

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated operational issues
  • Provide regular reporting on operational performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with US-based leadership and site teams to ensure alignment and effective communication

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in IT and OT operations management
  • Proven track record leading moderate to large operations teams (15+ members)
  • Extensive experience managing remote teams and coordinating on-site dispatch operations
  • Strong expertise in data center operations, including network infrastructure, security operations, and facility management
  • Demonstrated experience with 24/7 operations management and shift optimization
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing multi-tenant operational environments, including Kubernetes orchestrated environments in rack-scale facilities
  • Experience with AI systems requirements, including GPUs, models and use cases for inference workloads
  • Proficiency with monitoring platforms, dashboard creation, and alerting systems
  • Experience working across multiple time zones, particularly supporting US-based operations
  • Strong understanding of ITIL or similar operational frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate overlap with US business hours when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL Expert, PMP, CISSP, CCNP, or equivalent
  • Experience in managed services or multi-client operational environments
  • Background in both IT and OT convergence initiatives
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and hybrid data center environments
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools for operational efficiency
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • Previous experience managing operations for US-based clients from offshore locations
  • Demonstrated success implementing operational improvement initiatives and achieving measurable results
  • Experience with incident management platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in operational metrics and reporting
  • Proven ability to build and scale operational teams in high-growth environments
