Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer on contract with deep AWS expertise to join our Cloud Engineering team. This role is responsible for building, automating, optimizing, and securing scalable AWS cloud environments that support business applications and AI/ML initiatives.
As AI and intelligent automation are strategic priorities, the role focuses on engineering robust AWS platforms that enhance operational efficiency, ensure high availability, maintain security compliance, and optimize cloud costs.
The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, Infrastructure as Code, cloud migration, IAM management, and operational automation. While AWS is our primary cloud platform, Azure exposure is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure in collaboration with the Architecture team.
- Translate high-level solution designs into production-ready, operational cloud implementations.
- Engineer, deploy, and optimize AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, EBS/EFS, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, VPC (configuration-level), NLB, Amazon Kinesis, and related components.
- Design and support migration of workloads from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation acceptable) to standardize and automate provisioning.
- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and cloud-native deployments.
- Automate provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and routine operational tasks using scripting (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Engineer and optimize AWS environments to support AI/ML and automation-driven workloads.
- Implement AWS security best practices including IAM governance, encryption, logging, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation in collaboration with the security team.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using CloudWatch, Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar tools; troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues to minimize downtime.
- Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives and support FinOps best practices.
- Contribute reusable modules, deployment standards, platform improvements, and cloud engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and Cloud Operations team and provide technical guidance during implementation efforts.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation of configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
- Provide operational support for existing Azure workloads, as required.
- Provide basic support for SAP workloads hosted in AWS environments (optional).
- Experience optimizing cloud environments and identifying AI/automation opportunities to drive business value.
- Strong AWS IAM and service configuration expertise.
- CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud automation frameworks.
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar) to streamline provisioning, deployments, and operational tasks.
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes (EKS preferred).
- Ready to work on Contract
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience.
- Strong experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, EBS/EFS, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation etc.).
- Experience with cloud migration initiatives.
- Strong experience in cloud security practices, vulnerability remediation, and operational governance.
- Experience supporting AI/ML or automation-heavy workloads (preferred).
- Exposure to Azure services is a plus.

- Cloud monitoring and observability tools.
- Cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to look at business problems holistically and provide effective solutions.
- Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and participating in PI planning and sprint execution.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Terraform Associate
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
