What You’ll Build

The AI era is here and the only way to survive is to learn fast and automate everything.

Your job at Pensive as a founding AI engineer will be to help us build AI pipelines in our products and help us grow exponentially with creative methods leveraging AI. We believe a fully autonomous business will be possible soon and need your contribution.

Specifically you will build:

• Traditional AI engineering: AI pipelines for our grading/tutoring platform to help instructors save time and help millions of students learn faster.

• GTM Engineering: AI pipelines for managing our customers, growth, and business operations.

• Automation for every part of the business, from data pipelines to customer onboarding.

Here are some example tasks for this role:

• Track and improve AI performance of our AI grader.

• Develop a system to automatically categorize and source courses that might be a good fit for our product.

What We Need From You

We are looking for smart, agentic people who can utilize AI to navigate unknowns and solve problems quickly. We are specifically looking for:

• Robust and creative problem solving skills

• Ability to understand the code that AI generates, especially backend and AI related parts

• Ability to learn fast and adapt to rapid changes

Bonus Requirements

• Prior experience with prompt engineering and building AI pipelines

• Prior experience with building an app end to end.

• Ability to write or understand frontend code

Our Tech Stack

You do not have to be knowledgeable in these technologies for this role.

• Backend: Python, FastAPI, Postgres

• Frontend: Typescript, React, TailwindCSS, Tanstack Router

• Infra: GCP, Cloud Run, Firebase

• Mobile App: Capacitor

Interview Process

• Interview Chat: 15 minutes

• Take home test: (8 hours)

• Work trial (paid)
