On this journey for over 12 years, Qventus is leading the transformation of healthcare. We enable hospitals to focus on what matters most: patient care. Our innovative solutions harness the power of machine learning, generative AI, and behavioral science to deliver exceptional outcomes and empower care teams to anticipate and resolve issues before they arise.
Our success in rapid scale across the globe is backed by some of the world's leading investors. At Qventus, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional, mission-driven team across the globe, and the ability to directly impact the lives of patients. We’re inspired to work with healthcare leaders on our founding vision and unlock world-class medicine through world-class operations.
The Role
Forward Deployed Data Scientists at Qventus partner with clients to identify their most critical challenges and design data-driven solutions that deliver operational impact. Our customers rely on Qventus’ analytics and machine learning capabilities for high-stakes decisions, and projects often begin with open-ended questions like, “How can we predict surgical case overruns?” or “What’s the most effective way to improve patient discharge planning?” As a Data Scientist, you’ll merge analytical rigor, statistical and ML expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to help organizations transform complex data into actionable insights.
You’ll work in small, agile teams with a high degree of independence, driving projects from concept to deployed solution. A given day might involve building predictive models, refining LLM-based information retrieval systems, working directly with clinical leaders to interpret results, developing scalable data pipelines, or translating findings into operational strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and refine statistical and machine learning models, including NLP and explainable AI approaches.
- Develop, tune, and deploy LLM systems, with strong preference for RAG-based solutions.
- Perform hands-on data engineering: cleaning, transforming, and building pipelines (SQL, Python).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data insights into deployed products.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of applied research in ML or statistical modeling.
- 2+ years developing and maintaining ML systems in production.
- 1+ years working with LLM-based applications.
- Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience designing maintainable, high-quality codebases.
Bonus Points
- Experience mentoring and building collaborative data science teams.
- Exposure to agent-based generative AI frameworks.
- Background in healthcare data or hospital operations.
- Experience with Databricks, AWS, Snowflake, DBT, or similar platforms.
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
