Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer – AI Inferencing Systems

Location: Sunnyvale, CA Experience Level: Senior (10–15+ Years) Onsite/Hybrid - San Francisco Bay Area

About our company - Tensordyne (formerly Recogni)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming our world. It can perform cognitive functions that previously only humans could do, such as perceiving interactions across different modalities and environments - with the ability to quickly learn and then solve complex problems. Tensordyne is an AI system solution company that builds very high-performance, low-power generative AI inference systems. Our mission, through the creation of custom silicon, hardware and software, is to enable multimodal Generative AI inference acceleration at scale, with safe, sustainable, high-performance systems for our hyperscaler and neocloud data center customers. We are at the leading edge of advancing the latest research and product improvements for generative Al inference solutions that will make Al even more advantageous for compelling new generative AI applications.Tensordyne is a well funded, fast-paced startup company with headquarters in both Sunnyvale, CA, and Munich, Germany. We also have many talented team members working remotely across North America and Europe. We take care of our people and their families with comprehensive benefits, competitive compensation, flexible spending options, and recognition programs, because building category-defining technology starts with a healthy, supported team. Come join us as we shape the future of multimodal generative artificial intelligence!

Architect & Develop the Solution: Develop the end-to-end Manufacturing Test Solution (ICT, FCT, Burn-in, and System Level Test) for high-performance AI servers.

Own the Lifecycle: From NPI (New Product Introduction) to high-volume manufacturing (HVM), you will lead the deployment of test solutions at our Tier-1 Contract Manufacturers (CMs).

Software & Automation: Develop and maintain sophisticated test scripts and automation frameworks that minimize human intervention and maximize throughput.

Diagnostics & Utilities: Collaborate with Hardware and Software teams to leverage and/or develop custom diagnostics that functionally exercise and stress the AI accelerator, high-speed interconnects, and memory subsystems.

This hands-on multi-disciplinary role provides a unique opportunity to interact directly with ASIC, Hardware, and Software teams to gather necessary requirements and specifications, and develop and deploy the manufacturing test solution for a complex, high‑performance hardware system, from PCB and PCBA through full system‑level testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Development: Define, design, and own the development of comprehensive manufacturing test strategies for hardware at the PCB, PCBA, and final system levels.
  • Automation & Support: Develop and maintain automated manufacturing test solutions deployed within factory and contract manufacturing environments.
  • Debugging & Root-Cause Analysis: Perform debugging and root-cause analysis for hardware, board-level, and system-level failures encountered during manufacturing and product bring-up.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Hardware Design, Validation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure robust test coverage, drive yield improvement, and optimize manufacturability.
  • Test Execution & Deployment: Support PCBA manufacturing testing, including Boundary Scan, Functional Test, and System Integration Testing, and partner with Contract Manufacturers for test deployment, sustainment, and issue resolution.
  • Data Infrastructure: Develop test software, Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), and supporting infrastructure necessary for manufacturing data collection, traceability, and analysis.

Qualifications
