Cutting-edge technology — Work at the frontier of Agentic AI, workflow orchestration, and enterprise-scale systems
Accelerate your career growth — Work with world-class teams on leading-edge technology, pioneering customers, and world-class colleagues
We're a team of innovators in open source, big data, and automation-as-code. If you want to work on challenging technical problems with direct business impact alongside exceptional engineers and product builders, let's talk.
The Opportunity
As Sema4.ai grows, we're building a world-class engineering and product organization to deliver the next generation of enterprise AI agents. Traditional recruiting approaches fall short when hiring for cutting-edge AI/ML roles that require deep technical expertise in LLMs, agentic systems, and enterprise-scale platform engineering.
We are seeking a Technical Recruiter who will play a critical role in identifying, attracting, and hiring exceptional engineering and product talent. You'll be the architect of our technical hiring strategy, working at the intersection of talent acquisition and technical evaluation to build teams that will define the future of enterprise AI.
Who You Are
We are seeking a dynamic Technical Recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and brings deep expertise in hiring senior engineering and product talent. You'll work directly with engineering and product leadership and hiring managers to identify technical talent for roles spanning AI/ML engineering, full-stack development, platform architecture, and technical product management. You're someone who can evaluate technical capabilities, understand complex role requirements, and build relationships with highly specialized candidates in competitive markets.
What You'll Do
Primary Focus: Build World-Class Engineering & Product Team
Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles, e.g., Principal Engineers, AI/ML specialists, Technical Leads, Full Stack Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Product Managers
Partner with engineering and product leadership to understand technical requirements, define ideal candidate profiles, and create compelling role narratives
Build and execute innovative sourcing strategies to identify passive candidates with expertise in AI agents, LLMs, Python, distributed systems, enterprise platforms, and modern web technologies
Conduct thorough technical screens to evaluate candidates' core competencies, problem-solving abilities, and cultural alignment before advancing them to hiring teams
Manage candidate experience throughout the hiring process, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple interview stages with distributed teams
Develop and refine our technical interview process to ensure we're effectively evaluating for the skills that matter while creating a positive candidate experience
Build talent pipelines for future hiring needs and maintain relationships with high-potential candidates
What You Bring
Required Experience
5+ years of experience in technical recruiting with a focus on engineering and product roles
Proven track record of successfully hiring senior engineers (Staff+, Principal, Technical Lead levels) and technical product managers
Strong experience recruiting for AI/ML, data engineering, or platform engineering roles at high-growth startups or top-tier tech companies
Demonstrated ability to fill challenging technical roles in competitive markets with limited candidate pools
Experience managing a full-cycle recruiting process independently from sourcing through offer negotiation and close
Ability to work from our Atlanta office 2-3 days a week
Technical Skills
Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals and modern technology stacks (e.g., Python, TypeScript/React, cloud platforms, APIs, microservices)
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, and agentic systems
Ability to evaluate technical resumes and conduct meaningful technical conversations with engineering candidates
Proficiency with modern recruiting tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Ashby, sourcing tools) and willingness to leverage AI to enhance recruiting efficiency
Preferred Experience
Background recruiting for early-stage startups (Series A-B) in the AI/ML or enterprise SaaS space
Experience building recruiting processes and hiring strategies from the ground up
Familiarity with distributed team hiring in the US
What Sets You Apart
Technical Problem Solver: You excel at understanding complex technical requirements, translating them into effective sourcing strategies, and identifying non-obvious talent pools where others struggle to find candidates
Relationship Builder: You build authentic, long-term relationships with candidates and hiring managers based on trust, transparency, and mutual respect. Top engineers want to work with you because you understand their career aspirations
Self-Motivated & Adaptable: You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments and drive results independently. You're comfortable defining your own processes and improving them iteratively
Exceptional Communicator: You communicate clearly and effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership. You can translate technical requirements into compelling candidate pitches and vice versa
Data-Driven & Detail-Oriented: You manage complex, multi-threaded recruiting pipelines while maintaining quality and attention to detail. You use data to identify bottlenecks and continuously improve outcomes
Passion for AI: You're genuinely excited about AI technology and its potential to transform enterprise work. You can authentically convey Sema4.ai's mission to candidates
