Job Summary

We are seeking seasoned Field CISO to act as a trusted advisor to our enterprise and public sector customers, particularly as they navigate cloud transformation, Zero Trust architectures, and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) adoption. In this highly customer-facing role, you will help articulate the security value of our platform—bridging technical credibility with a business strategy to drive confidence and close complex deals.

You’ll collaborate with CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and compliance leaders to build trust, address risk, and position our SASE and ZTNA capabilities as critical enablers of secure digital transformation.

This is not a theoretical security role. You’ll be on the front lines of customer conversations, turning security from a blocker into a strategic accelerator.

Responsibilities

Security is no longer a checkbox—it’s a buying decision. Our Field CISOs are not just security experts. They are trust accelerators, sales enablers, and strategic allies for our most important customers. You will help shape how the world sees our security posture and why they can confidently build on our platform.

  • Customer-Facing Advisory
    • Engage directly with CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and compliance leads at enterprise and public sector organizations.
    • Lead customer discussions on secure cloud transformation, Zero Trust implementation, and modern network security frameworks like SASE.
    • Translate our SASE, ZTNA, and broader security architecture into risk-reducing, compliance-enabling outcomes for customers.
    • Represent the “voice of security” in strategic sales cycles—especially when customer trust is a prerequisite for adoption.
  • Establish Credibility & Build Trust
    • Act as a peer-level advisor to customer security stakeholders, offering strategic input on architecture, risk mitigation, threat models, and compliance alignment.
    • Help customers understand how our integrated SASE and ZTNA platform supports regulatory frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI, ISO 27001).
    • Calm concerns and de-risk decisions during due diligence and procurement by showcasing our security posture, controls, and roadmap.
  • Support Pre-Sales & Deal Acceleration
    • Collaborate with Account Executives to deliver technical win strategies for security-conscious customers.
    • Respond to customer security reviews, due diligence calls, and in-depth Q&A sessions with confidence and precision.
    • Co-own the security win strategy with Sales and Sales Engineering—particularly in deals where security, compliance, or Zero Trust readiness are key decision factors.
    • Be the “executive security face” of the company to our most risk-conscious customers.
    • Partner with Sales Engineering and Product teams to align on security differentiation and roadmap discussions.
  • Industry & Domain Expertise
    • Stay up to date on security trends, evolving threat landscapes, and regulatory requirements in FedRAMP, HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other frameworks.
    • Bring back customer concerns and insights to help shape product and roadmap priorities from the front lines.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve
    • Stay current on emerging threats, SASE market trends, ZTNA maturity models, and evolving enterprise security architectures.
    • Feed customer insights and security landscape changes back into product, marketing, and strategy teams.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in cybersecurity leadership, ideally including time spent as a CISO, Deputy CISO, or security advisor in an enterprise SaaS/cloud environment.
  • Strong grasp of SASE architecture, Zero Trust principles, and their operational application in enterprise or hybrid environments.
  • Demonstrated success influencing enterprise security strategy and executive decision-making.
  • Experience working with compliance-heavy verticals (government, healthcare, financial services).
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST 800-207 (Zero Trust), NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and FedRAMP.
  • Exceptional communication skills—you can break down technical nuance into business value with clarity and confidence.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills—you can balance technical depth with business clarity.
  • Prior experience in a field CISO, solutions architect (security-focused), or sales engineering role is a strong plus.
  • Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range of $300,000 to $350,000. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
